Tata Steel has over 40 years experience of producing pre-finished steel, as well as 35 years of design and prototyping expertise. The Tata Steel Prototyping Centre is a centre of excellence for designing and processing pre-finished metal.
Our prototyping facilities offer a free and confidential service and have been used for over 30 years to assist companies in converting their processes to pre-finished metals. The advice includes many aspects of design including design of corners, dealing with cut edges and joining techniques.

Pre-finished steel
Pre-finished steel is a strip steel product with a number of paint layers and treatments applied in a highly automated and carefully controlled manufacturing process. Pre-finished steel can be pressed, roll formed, drawn or notched without affecting the performance or finish of the product. The design section will demonstrate how to use these techniques.
