Aludip BQX™

Aludip BQX™

Aludip BQX™ is an aluminium–silicon coated steel with an additional protective organic coating, providing extra protection against the harshest of atmospheric corrosive conditions.

Aludip BQX™ dedicated properties:
· Non-combustible
· Zinc-free
· Heat resistance and reflectivity
· Strength
· Corrosion resistance
· High-temperature oxidation resistance
· Abrasion resistance
· Sag resistance

Protection
Aludip BQX™ has been developed to withstand the demanding conditions of high temperature and atmospheric corrosion, where it is vital that sheet metal retains its structural and coating integrity. Its primary use is in the lagging of pipes, but may also be used for ventilation ducting and building cladding. The product provides extra protection against even the harshest atmospheric corrosion, such as sea spray and ‘salt air’ attack. Particularly in spaces that are north facing, poorly ventilated, and not regularly washed with fresh rainwater.

The advantages of Aludip BQX™ steels:
· Low-cost alternative to stainless steel and aluminium.
· Greater mechanical strength than aluminium, allowing lighter gauges to be used.
· Higher melting point of aluminium (650°-660°C) compared with zinc (419°C).
· In a fire, due to its low aluminium content, there is no risk of extensive pools of melted aluminium.
· Safe to use with stainless steel.
· Available in a range of colours. Please consult us about non-standard colours you may require.

Applications
Aludip BQX™ offers a host of properties for performance critical applications such as: building, power generating, petrochemical and oil industries, and in marine environments.
Typical applications include: offshore oilrigs and seashore terminals.
